Most business websites don't have a traffic problem — they have a conversion problem. Here are the leaks we find most often, and the order to fix them in.
Start with the leak, not the traffic
When a website isn't producing enquiries, the instinct is to spend more on ads. Before you do, check whether the visitors you already have are being given a reason to act.
Most sites we audit leak enquiries in one of three places.
1. There is no obvious next step
Every page should answer one question: what should this visitor do now? If a visitor has to hunt for a phone number, a form, or a booking link, they usually leave instead.
The fix: one primary call to action, repeated at natural decision points — after the value proposition, after proof, and at the end of every page.
2. Your pages answer the wrong question
Visitors arrive with a specific problem. Pages written about the company — who we are, our history — leave them to work out whether you can help.
The fix: lead with the outcome, then explain how you deliver it. Save the history for the About page.
3. Nothing happens after the form
A form submission that lands in a shared inbox and waits two days is a lost opportunity. Response speed is one of the few conversion levers you fully control.
The fix: connect forms to a CRM, assign an owner automatically, and send an acknowledgement within minutes.
The seven-day fix list
- Rewrite your homepage headline around the outcome you deliver
- Add one clear call to action to every page
- Show proof — results, numbers, or a client quote — near the top
- Route every form into a CRM with automatic assignment
- Confirm receipt instantly, and follow up within one business day
- Check your mobile experience end to end
- Measure enquiries weekly, not quarterly
